Faculty Expectations 

  • Faculty must follow minimum use policies of the online learning platform set by academic affairs and their colleges. This enables Regis to migrate content quickly to remote learning if necessary. 

  • Faculty will teach their classes in the format and delivery model established by the college. 

  • Classroom capacity will be held at 50% in-person, to a limit of 50. A small number of very large rooms can accommodate up to 100. All classes must meet these standards through hybrid or online supplements. 

  • Faculty may teach their classes out of doors, weather permitting, if they have asked for and been assigned a location by the Office of the Provost. Social distancing and masking are still required. Faculty may only use their assigned space during class time. 

  • Faculty may refuse class entry if a student is not wearing a mask. 

  • Faculty should require assigned seats in classrooms to enable contact tracing.

  • Faculty must wear masks in the classroom. 

  • All faculty, regardless of assigned teaching method, must have a plan to move fully or partially remote if necessary. 

  • Classroom social distancing must be maintained. 

  • Faculty must take attendance this fall for the purpose of identifying potential outbreak patterns. 

  • All group music lessons will be outside in an enclosed, heated tent for the duration of the semester. The University will purchase “singing masks” for students for the fall. 

Masks and Social Distancing 

  • Masks must be worn except in personal offices. 

  • Social distancing of six feet or more is required. 

  • Group size and meetings will be limited in accordance with local restrictions. 

  • Meetings should be held virtually whenever possible. 

Employees 

  • Employees will work on campus except: 

    • Those who have requested and obtained HR accommodation requests.

    • Those whose jobs have been identified as potentially fully remote, for those periods of time when the University is reducing its density.

Classroom Management

  • If one student in a classroom is confirmed with COVID-19, other students will be asked to self-monitor for symptoms and get a COVID-19 test after 7 days have passed. 

  • If two students in a classroom are confirmed with COVID-19, other students will be asked to quarantine, the classroom will be shut down for use, it will be disinfected using CDC guidelines and closed for 48 hours. 

  • If more than two students in a classroom are confirmed with COVID-19, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Outbreak Team will be called in to advise on next steps. 

Colleges will adapt these plans to their individual unique college needs. Colleges may have plans that are more stringent than these guidelines, but these minimum guidelines must be met.
