Academic Advising and Registration

Academic Advising is the preparation process for class registration that occurs in the fall and spring semesters, and it is vital to academic success in Regis College. Make sure you are in regular communication with your academic advisor to ensure that you are progressing through the required courses for your program and on track to graduation.

What is WebAdvisor?
It is your student hub to find and register for classes, find your Academic Advisor and more.

Registration Timeline

Each student has a Registration Status assigned to them based on the number of credit hours they have completed, and possibly other factors. Once academic advising week begins, registration for the different status groups occurs as follows:

FIRST: Senior Status (students who have completed 92+ credit hours)

SECOND: Exceptions Status (includes in-season athletes, Honors Program students and Debate Team members)

THIRD: Junior Status (students who have completed 60-91 credit hours)

FOURTH: Sophomore Status (students who have completed 30-59 credit hours)

FIFTH: First-Year Status (students who have completed 0-29 credit hours)

How to Register for Courses

STEP 1: Log in to WebAdvisor and pull up your Program Evaluation. This evaluation can help you decide what courses to take next semester or during the summer session.

STEP 2: If your evaluation includes courses that are not in the correct category (typically at the bottom of the evaluation), you will need to submit a waiver/substitution form. Contact your academic advisor for help with that. You can find out who your advisor is in your WebAdvisor account.

STEP 3: Search for your courses on WebAdvisor.

STEP 4: Email your academic advisor a copy of the courses you wish to take. You can complete the RC Course Selection Worksheet and email a picture of the completed worksheet to your academic advisor. Or, you can include the course names and numbers directly in the body of an email. To make sure you select courses that fit into your schedule, use the Course Schedule Worksheet.

STEP 5: Meet with your academic advisor to ensure your course selections will keep you on track for graduation. You should have a copy of your WebAdvisor program evaluation available when you meet with them. Please note: You should select backup options in case your first-choice courses are not available when you register.

STEP 6: After you meet with your academic advisor, the Advising flag blocking your registration will be removed from your student account. This process can take up to 3 business days, so please plan accordingly. You will not be allowed to register until this flag is removed and registration is open for your class level.

STEP 7: Once registration opens for your class level, log in to WebAdvisor and register for the classes listed on your RC Course Selection Worksheet. You can refer to the Regis College Advising Online Registration Student Tutorial for step-by-step guidance on registration.

STEP 8: If you need to make changes after you register, use the RC Course Selection Worksheet to share your desired changes with your academic advisor. Please note: Making registration decisions without consulting your academic advisor could jeopardize your progress toward graduation.

STEP 9: Always check to verify that your course selections are accepted. To do this, check the My Class Schedule link under the Academic Profile section in WebAdvisor. Closed courses or system load might impact registration functions, so if the system is slow, it may help to wait a bit and come back.
