Find your calling with this hands-on, interactive workshop lead by Gregg Levoy, author of Callings: Finding and Following An Authentic Life! Read below for more details about the workshop, which is open to all Regis students and alumni.

Students often struggle to know and follow their truest callings, to create a match between who they are and what they do, and as author Frederich Buechner put it, to find "the place where their deep gladness meets the world’s deep hunger.” These decisions need to be made as much from the soul and spirit as from the dictates of security. What’s at stake is a life of authenticity and integrity, a life that honors passion and purpose. And though the job market may have shifted in the last two years, and some of the methodologies of the job search have changed, the inward search remains the same—the work of vocational discernment. In this dynamic and hands-on workshop, designed around a series of self-reflective questions, we’ll strike up a dialogue with the deep self, and hear what it has to say about anything as important as our worklife. With an eye toward gaining clarity and courage, we’ll explore the process typically encountered in listening and responding to callings, and the questions that arise naturally in their presence:

  • How do you tell a true call from a false one?
  • How do you choose from among many passions?
  • How do you handle your resistance to a calling?
  • What happens when you say no?
  • What happens when you say yes?
