The Community for Belonging and Equity (CoBE) invites faculty, staff and students to the annual Denver Martin Luther King Jr. Day Marade. The first Denver Marade was on January 20, 1986. State Rep. Wilma Webb coined the name and said it meant to parade and celebrate the victories achieved in combating injustices that had occurred, and march non-violently to always confront injustices in the future wherever they may be. Learn more about the history of this event here.
A Regis bus will leave Lot 3 (Student Center) at 9 a.m. After a program in City Park, the Marade begins around 10:30 a.m. Marade participants will travel from City Park (E. Colfax Avenue at Columbine) to Civic Center Park (W. Colfax at Bannock Street), approximately 3 miles. Regis Community members are also welcome to meet at City Park before the marade starts.
The 36-passenger bus will leave Civic Center Park at 12:15 p.m. and return to campus by 1 p.m. Reserve your seat on the Regis bus here.
