A Message from President Aceves

Dear Colleagues,

Regis Gives is more than just an annual event; it's a testament to our community's commitment to making a positive impact. Over 48 hours, we come together to support various impactful initiatives and programs that benefit our students and the broader community. I asked Ms. Destiny Feliciano, a student immersed in this effort, to share how this initiative has impacted her and fostered a sense of belonging. Here is what she shared.

“I am Destiny Feliciano, a Colorado native and senior here at Regis University. In 2020 I began my education at Regis thanks to financial support from the Dean’s Scholarship. I’m a first-generation college student, and I will be graduating next month with a degree in criminal justice and double minor in sociology and peace and justice studies.

As I reflect on my time as a Ranger, I am honored to have been granted so many opportunities like serving as the University Advancement Annual Giving intern. In this role I have had the privilege to work alongside an amazing team and witness the astounding impact that our community of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends create through their giving. The main focus of my internship has been working on Regis Gives, the University’s largest annual fundraiser, coming up on April 16 and 17. I have helped support the 24 project owners who have worked tirelessly to share the power of their projects with our community.

Through my internship, I now have a deeper understanding of the impact that gifts to the University have on students like me. Working with the 24 Regis Gives projects, I have learned about a wide range of student-focused programs and initiatives happening all over Regis. As a community, we have the opportunity to fund various initiatives like research projects in health care, providing student interview outfits via the Ranger Co-Op and awarding student scholarships so students like me can afford this life-changing Jesuit education. Regis Gives is a vital part of continuing Regis’ mission, and I am so honored to be a part of it.

My Regis journey has been more than an education, it has been a mind and heart expanding experience. I want to thank every Regis donor and supporter for all the support you have shown me and the entire Ranger community. I hope you will you continue to show your support for Regis by spreading the word about Regis Gives, participating in early giving starting April 9 or by making a donation on April 16 or 17. You can learn more here: regis.edu/gives.”

Destiny, your insights into your student experience and Regis Gives' profound impact are invaluable. Your dedication exemplifies the spirit of our campus community. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.

Kindly,

Salvador D. Aceves, Ed.D.
