IRS Benefit Plan Limits for 2026

Each year, the IRS announces updated benefit plan contribution limits for the upcoming tax year. These limits determine the maximum contributions you can make as a participant in various plans. Below are the 2026 limits for the benefit plans available to eligible faculty and staff at Regis University:

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Contributions:

  • Health Care FSA and Limited Purpose Health Care FSA: Limit increases from $3,300 to $3,400 on May 1, 2026.
  • Dependent Care FSA: Limit increases from $5,000/$2,500 to $7,500 per household or $3,375 married filing separately on May 1, 2026.

NoteFSA contribution changes can only be made during open enrollment or following a mid-year qualified event. Our benefit plan year runs from May 1 to April 30, with open enrollment typically occurring in March/April.

Health Savings Account (HSA) Contributions:

  • Employee-only coverage: Limit increases from $4,300 to $4,400.
