COVID-19 Cases in the Regis Community
Thursday, March 19: A second graduate health student has tested positive for the coronavirus COVID-19 and is self-quarantined. The student’s last day on campus was March 12; the student was tested on March 17. People who have been in close contact with the student have been notified to take the appropriate precautions to avoid the spread of the virus.
Tuesday, March 17: A second Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions faculty member has tested positive for COVID-19. The faculty member was last on campus on Thursday, March 5, and was tested on Friday, March 13. Earlier (see update immediately below), a different RHCHP faculty member tested presumptive positive for COVID-19.
Tuesday, March 17: A Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions faculty member has received a presumptive positive test for COVID-19 and is recovering at home. A final test result will be available in a few days. The faculty member was last on campus in Claver Hall on Thursday, March 12, and was symptomatic two days later.
Saturday, March 14: A graduate health student has tested positive for the coronavirus COVID-19 and is self-quarantined at her personal off-campus residence, according to local public health officials. The student last attended classes in Claver Hall on Thursday, March 5 but was not exhibiting symptoms until the following week and public health officials say she was not infectious when she was on campus based on Centers for Disease Control advisories. Regis’ traditional on-campus students were on Spring break from Feb. 29 to March 8.
Claver Hall has been cleaned multiple times since March 5, and the University has increased the frequency of facility cleanings. Federal educational privacy law prohibits the University from providing any additional identifying information. The university requests that all affected people’s privacy be respected.
