Regis will hold commencement ceremonies this summer if possible

In response to a survey of this year’s Class of 2020, Regis University plans to conduct postponed Commencement ceremonies this summer if permissible under public health guidelines for the COVID-19 coronavirus.

The University has postponed the scheduled ceremonies on May 2-3 due to local and state restrictions on large gatherings. A large majority of respondents to the survey preferred a summer ceremony instead of holding events in the fall. The option of a virtual ceremony was singularly unpopular as were private, small doctoral hooding ceremonies.

The University will continue to monitor guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the governor and the mayor, and will announce event plans as soon as possible. It is likely that a decision will not be possible until June. If a summer event is not feasible, the University will consider an event in the fall to honor and recognize the Class of 2020.
