Volunteer as the Regis Community Garden Coordinator!
Love to garden? The Regis Community Garden is seeking a volunteer for the position of Garden Membership coordinator. The Regis Community Garden is an official Denver Urban Garden west of Claver Hall with 24 plots, including a flower and herb garden for Regis staff and neighbors.
Garden Membership Coordinator Role
- Must be a Regis employee (per University agreement)
- Coordinate membership, collect fees, volunteer waivers, assign plots, and send general communication through email, related to workdays and pertinent tasks
- Maintain regiscommunitygarden@dug.org inbox
- Communicated with Regis Physical Plant about mowing and water on/off timeline
- Liaison between Marketing and Communications Office at Regis
- Work with steering committee to set goals for season and delegate task leads with clear deadlines
- Coordinate monthly meetings with steering committee members that focuses on goals, schedule for workdays, task delegation, and social initiatives
- Email and post spreadsheet with all season member contact information and visual map of garden plot assignments in shed
- Expect to begin membership efforts in February and usually conclude by May
- Inquire who will be returning, determine plot openings, connect with DUG to let them know how many plots are open, set deadlines for commitment forthe new season
- Communicate guidelines and general expectations to ALL gardeners; then coordinate new members to receive orientation from a leader & add to Garden Google Group
- Communicate with current and new members about yearly waiver/app, fees etc (sent mail has draft template)
- Assign plots to new members
- Maintain a wait list as needed
- Contribute a membership report for the annual end of year summary
