Join us for the 9/11 National Day of Service
The 20th anniversary of the 9/11 tragedies has become a national day of service and remembrance known as 9/11 Day.
9/11 Day is a time when Americans are asked to join together in unity to remember those lost, and if possible, perform good deeds or other acts of service as a positive tribute to 9/11 victims, first responders and military personnel who rose in service in response to the attacks.
On Sept. 9, the Military and Veterans Services office will host Regis’ first National Day of Service and Remembrance. With this event, the Regis community will be contributing to 9/11 Day’s goal of inspiring Americans to perform 20 million good deeds in remembrance and tribute of the 20th anniversary of 9/11.
Free food and personal necessities will be provided to our community outside the student center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Denver Human Services helped fund this event.
While remembering the day, help an organization that provides a meaningful service. Improve the lives of others. Spread kindness. Offer hope. Share your skills with those who are most in need.
It’s easy to participate:
- For two weeks, Sept.1 – 12, reach out on campus and in your neighborhood community to find ways to get involved.
- Browse the outstanding service opportunities and “good deeds” you’ll find at 911day.org.
- Pick an activity that inspires you or come up with your own good deed or charitable service project.
- Share your good deed or activity on social media. Include the hashtag #Regis911Day.
Let’s join together to devote some time on 9/11 to help those most in need.
