A Letter from Dr. Karen Riley
Colleagues,
I hope this note finds you warm and well, after more winter snow! The moisture is needed, but it does not always happen at convenient times. Thank you to all who have been helping to review and finalize an updated weather policy that will be linked with any future RU Alerts announcing snow related delays or closures that should help to clarify any lingering confusion. Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.
It was great to see so many in attendance at the President’s Town Hall last week. I hope you found it helpful and informative. If you missed it, you can find the recording of the Town Hall here.
Some of you have requested ongoing office hours. Thanks to Sandy, the calendar wonder worker—we have added several opportunities for in-person office hours. Please mark your calendars and bring your thoughts and questions. If time permits, I’m also happy to share more about some of the exciting initiatives that I mentioned in the Town Hall. These conversations will take place in the Provost’s Office Suite in Main Hall 217. You do not need to make an appointment, just drop in. We will make sure there is coffee ready.

I have also set aside a virtual gathering specifically for our affiliate faculty- so I am looking forward to hearing their questions, thoughts and concerns.
Many thanks to Dr. Heidi Blair, Associate Provost and Director of Instructional Design & Technology and her team- as they have provided the bulk of the content for this week’s Provost’s Digest. There is a lot of great work happening to advance and support both teaching and learning and I hope you will take some time to explore it all.
With gratitude for all you do,
Dr. Karen Riley, Provost
