Take advantage of mission leave opportunities
Consistent with the vision of its Jesuit founders, Regis University encourages its employees to learn about and live out the University's mission "to build a more just and humane world through transformative education at the frontiers of faith, reason and culture." The purpose of the Mission Leave policy is to allow employees to participate voluntarily, with pay, in University sponsored or other approved experiences that occur during regularly scheduled work hours.
Mission Leave helps show compassion for others and is also a way to exercise self-care. All employees who work at least .5 FTE are eligible. Two types of voluntary activities are eligible for Mission Leave consideration: Retreats/Reflection and Mission Related Service. Supervisor approval is needed to schedule leave time.
Here are several upcoming opportunities to engage in University sponsored events that are Mission Leave eligible:
The Ignatian Year Lunch at noon April 1 in Main Hall 333. The lunch is hosted in celebration of the 500th anniversary of Ignatius of Loyola's conversion experiences and pilgrimage that led to the founding of the Jesuits. RSVP by March 25 to mission@regis.edu.
The Safe Outdoor Space (SOS) continues to operate on campus as well. Learn more about ways to help here.
Mission related service activities outside of Regis must involve acts of service that help others in an immediately personal way and make a tangible difference in the daily struggle for justice, dignity or human rights. Ask your supervisor to help determine which individual acts of service qualify under this policy.
