Regis University to return on-campus classes to in-person learning

Since COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are steadily declining in the Denver Metro area, Regis University will resume full in-person classes for those meeting on its Northwest Denver, Denver Tech Center and Thornton campuses on Monday, January 31.

This return to the classroom is also possible due to the high percentage of vaccinations and boosters among the campus community, said Interim President Cody Teets.

“We are grateful for how our community pulled together to keep themselves and their neighbors safe, and went the extra mile to ensure we continued to provide the high quality, individually focused education Regis is known for," Teets said. “We are better together. We are all eager for a return to normal.”

The University has required vaccinations and boosters to help keep community members safe. A February 1 deadline for faculty, staff and students to provide proof of a booster remains in effect. COVID testing for those with exemptions also will continue. Accommodations may still be requested for those with health-related conditions or needs which put them at a higher risk.

Instructors are being asked to be compassionate and flexible with absences due to illnesses or quarantines.

The indoor mask requirement in Denver and surrounding counties remains in place through February 3 and Regis will continue to follow public health guidance.

Denver's COVID cases have dropped more than 30 percent in recent days from a peak earlier this month, according to the Denver Department of Public Health and Environment (DDPHE).

If COVID-19 trends change, President Teets indicated a return to remote classes would remain an option.
