Reminder: Is Your Space Feeling Too Warm?

Just a friendly reminder that Carroll Hall, DeSmet Hall and the top floors of O’Connell Hall will not have air conditioning on Tuesday, September 20, from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. for an RHCHCP Career Fair in the Field House, and on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24 for athletic events in the Field House (see below for times).

We apologize for this inconvenience as your residence hall room, office or conference room may be feeling warmer than usual.

Due to supply chain issues, the University was unable to complete a scheduled replacement of a chiller this summer. We now don’t expect to complete the replacement until November 1, 2022.

To make you as comfortable as possible, Physical Plant will be making building-by-building adjustments. We ask for your patience and understanding.

The following is a cooling schedule, though it may be modified as necessary.

Orientation Events

Field House Gym Cooling

• 8/18 6-8 p.m.
• 8/20 6:30-8 p.m.

Orientation events may result in Carroll Hall and the top floors of O’Connell being taken offline for cooling from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on both days. DeSmet Hall could be affected too.

Athletic Events

Field House Gym Cooling

• 9/2 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
• 9/3 8 a.m.-9 p.m.
• 9/7 5:30-7:30 p.m.
• 9/23 5:30-7:30 p.m.
• 9/24 3-5 p.m.

Athletic events may result in Carroll Hall and the top floors of O’Connell Hall being taken offline for cooling around the event times. DeSmet Hall could be affected too.
