Volunteer at the Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition

Regis will host the 13th consecutive annual Rocky Mountain Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition on March 3 and 4. Eight college cyber teams from Utah, Nebraska, Kansas, and Colorado will square off to compete against each other in a simulated business environment while experiencing a cyber-attack. The winner advances to the national finals to represent the Rocky Mountain region and compete for the national championship. This year, the RMCCDC will be held on site at the Regis Tech Center Campus.

This competition helps jump-start opportunities in cybersecurity for students who participate. Many of these young men and women will one day be protecting businesses, organizations, universities, and our great nation. This is a great way for us to play it forward and fulfill one of Regis' missions of "people helping people."

We need Observer Team volunteers to the teams from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. Observers ensure the teams are following the rules, including not having any additional people in their competing space, using their phone or email to get outside assistance, etc.

I'm seeking volunteers to donate some time on March 3 and 4. This is truly a worthwhile cause, and I assure you, you will enjoy watching these teams compete under extreme pressure as they try to defend their simulated businesses. It will also give you a peak into what real companies experience and react to a real-world cyber-attack.

If you can volunteer some time, please go to the URL listed below, click on the "Register To Volunteer" button and complete the form, or email rbowles@regis.edu and let me know which day you can support.

Learn more and volunteer.

Thank you in advance for volunteering.

Kindest Regards,
