A Message from President Aceves
Dear Colleagues,
As a Jesuit Catholic institution, we offer a transformative education that enlivens the intellect and nourishes the spirit of our students. It is with joy that we will soon welcome many former students and families back to Regis as part of Blue & Gold weekend. I asked Kelly Purdy, our Vice President of Advancement, to share how the spirit of Blue & Gold provides our community with an excellent opportunity to reconnect with friends and their families.
“For many Regis students, the start of the school opens a new chapter in a new home. Whether they live in a residence hall or commute, Regis is home to hundreds of new students who are now part of the Regis legacy, with a place of their own within this caring community.
Once you are part of Regis, it’s your home forever. My belief in this idea has been reinforced in recent months as I’ve visited with alumni all over the country who carry deep affection for Regis in their hearts.
That’s why I hope you’ll join me in welcoming generations of alumni as well as current students and their families to Blue & Gold Weekend, September 21-24. This special weekend is a chance to show school spirit, get to know our new students and families and celebrate this special place we call home.
Activities open to faculty and staff include games from both the women’s and men’s soccer teams and a fireworks display on Friday, September 22. On Saturday, September 23, the Horseshoe Market will again showcase hundreds of local makers, artists and vintage collectors in Lot 3. The day’s activities also include a rugby tailgating party and scrimmage and a huge bonfire behind the baseball field, open to all.
Many members of our faculty and staff are themselves Regis alumnus. Blue & Gold alumni events the All-Alumni Dinner (which will highlight the 50th anniversary of the Class of 1973) and the 75th Anniversary of Loretto Heights School of Nursing.

Of course, I’m especially honored to celebrate Blue & Gold Weekend this year, as it follows festivities and events related to the inauguration of the new president. I hope to see many of you at the Mass of the Holy Spirit and Missioning of the President on Thursday, September 21 and the inaugural ceremony on Friday, September 22 – as well as the free community picnic that will kick off at 11:30 on Boettcher Commons. We’ll enjoy food trucks, music, and time together.
If you would like to be part of the team that will make these events so special, I encourage you to join our wonderful colleagues as a volunteer. To sign up, please visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0E4BA4AF2CA2FDC70-blue2.
Here’s to a wonderful homecoming for the entire Regis community!”
Thank you, Kelly and our Advancement and Alumni Engagement colleagues, for your thoughtful and careful planning. I look forward to the many activities scheduled that weekend. I also invite you to please join me in warmly welcoming our Regis families back to campus.
Kindly,
Salvador D. Aceves, Ed.D
