Regis faculty plays role in inauguration

Raul Dominguez, assistant professor, and director of Choral Activities held a prominent role in the Jan. 10 inauguration of Gov. Jared Polis, Lt. Gov. and Regis alumna Dianne Primavera and other statewide elected officials at the state capitol. Dominguez, who conducts Regis’ University Choir and Concert Choir, conducted the Denver Gay Men’s Chorus, where he is associate artistic director, in the Star-Spangled Banner and one other selection for the ceremony. The 120-member chorus invited the Colorado Springs gay men’s chorus, OutLoud, to join as a show of support and to pay tribute to those who lost their lives, were injured, or were affected by the Club Q shooting. Congratulations Professor Dominguez!

RUAC (Regis University Academic Council) Decisions 

The LHSON proposal to increase the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner degree by one semester hour was approved on Dec. 7, 2022. 

The proposal to create two academic certificates for the Regis College GLOBAL Inclusive Program was approved on Dec. 7, 2022. 

The proposal for Regis College to create an Alternative Teacher Licensure program was approved on Dec. 9, 2022. 

Join A Jesuit Walks into a Bar:  Sit Down Comedy with Rev. Jacob Martin, S.J.

Rev. Martin, S.J., an assistant professor of computer science, design and journalism at Creighton University, presents a night of comedy and community-building with alumni and friends. Join us on Friday, Jan. 27 from 6-8 p.m. in the Recital Hall inside Claver Hall.   

6-6:45 p.m.: Socializing & networking (hors d’oeuvres & alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages available) 

6:45-7 p.m.: Musical performance by Jon Michael Sullivan 

7-8 p.m.: Comedy performance by Fr. Jacob Martin, S.J.

Regis University and Instructional Design and Technology donated fifteen “Swivl” cases to Venezuelan families while they were staying on campus. Read more about how Regis assisted the families who stayed on campus.

Mission Offers Manresa Training for Staff 

The Office of Mission invites new staff members to attend the “Manresa Experience for Staff,” a five-session series in which participants will meet other new and veteran staff from different areas of the university, build community, learn more about the Jesuit Catholic mission of Regis, and explore how this mission can support your work. This series is adapted to the schedules and needs of staff members.  
   
The training will meet on the following days from 3:00 -4:15 p.m. in Main Hall, room 333: 
Jan. 26: The Regis mission 
Feb. 2: Ignatius of Loyola and the Jesuits  
Feb. 9: Jesuit Education 
Feb. 16: Being Companions in Mission 
Feb. 23: Ignatian Spirituality (optional)
