Retention and Persistence News

Retention and persistence is something that we have all been focusing on over the past several years, with a heightened focus during the past year. Although it is too early to determine where we will end the year and where we will begin in the fall of 2023, we do have some good news to share. The table below shows persistence from Fall Semester to Spring Semester. As you can see we have made gains in this area. You can recall from our Town Hall Meetings that increases in 1, 2, and 3 percent result in significant increases in revenue. These numbers are a result of ongoing and new efforts to support our students. Thank you all!

CCPD offers presentations about Career and Internship Fair

The Center for Career and Professional Development is excited to inform you about our upcoming 2023 Career and Internship Fair! Please mark your calendars and let your students know the fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on  Tuesday, March 14 in the Field House on the Northwest Denver Campus.

This is a chance for students and alumni to network, make professional connections, and even secure positions before the summer! We will host around 30 employers who are recruiting for various positions from both for-profit and non-profit sectors.

We would love to make a short 5-minute presentation to your classes about the fair between February 15 and March 13, if you have a few minutes of class time to spare. So that we can make arrangements to have one of our career counselors make an appearance, please let us know the following:

  • Date and time that works best for you
  • Location of classroom
  • Name of the course

If interested, please email careers@regis.edu a date and time that works for you, the location of your classroom, and the name of the course. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Student named to Harvest Table board

Harvest Table is excited to have Eleanor Hebert join their National Student Board of Directors representing Regis University for spring 2023. Board members participate in national monthly virtual meetings to discuss a variety of innovations surrounding meal plan design, sustainability initiatives, restaurant concepts, local and national partnerships and more. Harvest Table is pleased to partner with students across the country to continually evolve their program offerings and innovate the higher education dining landscape! Eleanor will also be responsible for gathering student feedback and taking that to the Ranger Dining team monthly to further enhance our program. Please join us in congratulating Eleanor on this amazing opportunity.

RUSGA Upcoming Elections

Election season for the Regis University Student Government Association (RUSGA) has arrived. Campaigns are subject to a set of rules that include a prohibition on candidates soliciting or receiving endorsements. The language in the campaign rules include the following:

  • Regis University staff, faculty, departments, programs and clubs and organizations are not allowed to endorse or sponsor a candidate publicly – at public events, meetings, on social media, or other similar venues.
  • Candidates are prohibited from endorsing other candidates.
  • Individual students, acting outside of their specific leadership roles, may endorse student candidates.  Most specifically this means that student leaders may not use the resources of their leadership role, or their position in it, to endorse any candidate. (This includes, but is not limited to, CDAs, current RUSGA Members, current members
of the student senate, Peer Ministers, CAs, Recognized Student Organization officers, etc.)

Regis students were on hand at the History Colorado Museum for the opening reception of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo exhibit.

The students are pictured in front of a replica of an Arapaho Tipi which was brought in to accompany the new Sand Creek Massacre exhibit. The Treaty was signed 175 years ago.
