Mark your calendars for debates
Regis is welcoming the community to the Northwest Denver Campus for candidate debates ahead of the 2023 City Council At-Large and Denver Mayoral elections. Dominic Dezzutti, an experienced media professional and Regis alumnus who has produced and hosted election debates in Colorado for over 25 years, will serve as moderator. Both events will take place in the Mountain View Room of Claver Hall. Event media partner CBS4 will stream the event. Doors open at 6 p.m. Parking in Regis’ Lot 4 outside Claver Hall will be free.

February Celebrates Regis Scholarship Opportunities

Department of Chemistry receives full re-accreditation
Regis College’s Department of Chemistry received full re-accreditation from the American Chemical Society (ACS). The program met all the current ACS guidelines and the reviewers recommended continued approval. The next periodic report will be due June 20, 2028. Congratulations to everyone in Regis College’s Chemistry department!
Kinoti appointed to JNEL editorial board
Dr. M.D. Kinoti, Professor and Program Director for the Master of Nonprofit Management (MNM), Anderson College for Business and Computing, was appointed to a second three-year term beginning Feb. 1, 2023, to the Editorial Board of the Journal of Nonprofit Education and Leadership (JNEL). This premier quarterly journal's mission is to improve nonprofit education and leadership through the publication and dissemination of peer-reviewed manuscripts centered on professional practice, research, and theoretical discussions.
In Nov 2022, Dr. Kinoti was also appointed to the Board of Directors for the Nonprofit Academic Centers Council (NACC). The Nonprofit Academic Centers Council is an international membership association comprised of academic centers or programs at accredited colleges and universities focused on the study of nonprofit/nongovernmental organizations, voluntary action, and/or philanthropy. Established in 1991, NACC is the first group entirely dedicated to the promotion and networking of centers and academic programs that provide research and education in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.
Gonzales discusses COVID-19 memorial
Dr. Nicki Gonzales, Vice Provost for Diversity, Equity and Inclusive Excellence and history professor, speaks to the call for a memorial to honor Colorado’s 15,000 COVID dead in this CPR News piece. Dr. Gonzales says “it’s hard to memorialize something that you’re still in the midst of.”
