Mark your calendar for Good Trouble Conversations
Join the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusive Excellence from noon-1:30 p.m. on Friday, March 10, in Peter Claver Hall, room 306, for a Good Trouble Conversation. Michael Chiang, Associate Professor and Chair of Regis College History and Politics will engage the Regis community in a conversation titled, “Engage or Decouple? Beyond Binaries in U.S.-China Relations.”
The United States and China are two of the most consequential countries in the world today, wielding, to differing degrees, considerable political, economic, and military power and influence. Yet despite the fact that they share many of the same complex challenges in common, such as climate change, environmental degradation, global pandemics, wealth and income inequalities, and misinformation and disinformation, that defy easy solutions and require collaboration across the nation-state framework, many signs point to a fragmentation in the global order as the two countries take radically different approaches to solving these problems. This talk will explore the many factors at stake in the U.S.-China relationship as well as how the bifurcation in that relationship has affected and been affected by broader global developments. The aim is to go beyond simplistic binaries in framing a more productive way for both sides to envision their futures.

Gratitude Event
In an effort to encourage students to give thanks to all those who support them on their journey as students, our parent and family liaison, Kristi Gonsalves-McCabe, and her senior student intern, Alma Borunda-Granillo, are going to be tabling in the Student Center several times in March. They will provide the opportunity for students to write a note of gratitude and send an “I Heart my Ranger” sticker. We appreciate you encouraging students to come! All are welcome to write a note of their own! March 8: 11-1 p.m., 4:30-6:30 p.m., March 20: 11-1 p.m.; and March 22: 11-1 p.m., 4:30-6:30 p.m. Many thanks to Dan Alarcon on the Marcom team for the adorable image for the stickers!
