A Letter from Dr. Karen Riley

Good afternoon Regis,

The last few days we have been fortunate to have beautiful Colorado weather. For those who live in state, I hope that you have been able spend some time outside enjoying the weather. For our community members who live in other states, I hope spring weather is also emerging and you are able to enjoy being outside as well.

This will be my final Provost’s Digest. It is difficult to summarize two years into a couple of paragraphs, as one cannot fully capture all of the nuance or the emotions. I have to admit that I have written and rewritten this letter several times — sometimes longer, sometimes shorter.

I want to start out by thanking you all again for your hard work, collaboration, honesty, and commitment to Regis. I am deeply grateful for the time we have had together. I have great confidence in the future of the university. We have accomplished a great deal over the past couple of years — new partnerships, new programs, new approaches; all of which have served to strengthen the university. A strong foundation can help us to embrace transition as transformation. Each of you, every day, contributes to the aspiration and strength that makes Regis a vibrant, innovative, and resilient community. As you preserve and inspire the Regis community, please continue to nourish and safeguard your own well-being.

This is a challenging yet exciting time. I look forward to speaking with the new Provost once they are named and watching from afar as Regis continues a path to thriving.

With affection and gratitude,
