  • Please join us for the inaugural “Faculty Toast” (not Faculty “Roast” like a comedy roast, that’s a different idea I consider on some commutes home 😊). This reception is a chance to join in general fellowship with colleagues, and specific recognition and celebration of those who have received tenure, promotion, sabbatical, and Emeriti status. The reception will be on April 2 from 3:30-5 p.m. in the Provost Suite. All faculty and staff are welcome, please feel free to drop-in at any point for connection and conversation, but note that the “official” toasting will be at 4 p.m.

  • Please consider helping with Commencement. There are many ways to support the efforts of the day, a day that is so meaningful to students and their families. If you are willing to help, please reach out to Eric Rippee at erippee@regis.edu.

  • Geoffrey Bateman (Regis College) published a new essay on vocation. It’s titled, “Queer Vocation and the Uncommon Good,” and it is included in NetVUE’s (Network for Vocation in Undergraduate Education) fourth volume of its Scholarly Resources Project, Called Beyond Ourselves: Vocation and the Common Good(Oxford, 2024). 

  • Congratulations to Deb Vinnola (Registrar’s Office), Deb was recently named Chair/President for the Colorado and Wyoming Network of Women Leaders.

  • Thanks to Surendra Mahapatro and Nick Kallan (Regis College) for their work to get ten undergraduate research stipends ($1,000 per student) from the Western Alliance to Expand Student Opportunities (WAESO; Arizona State University; Tempe Arizona)

  • Please consider adding the following approved statement to future syllabi:

  • Loretta Notareschi (Regis College) had her music performed recently in the United Kingdom – String Quartet OCD, a work written to raise awareness for maternal mental health, was performed twice by the Clothworkers Quartetin Huddersfield and Leeds in the U.K. in January and February. The performances were part of a project called R3Connect Live!, presented by psychology researcher Louisa Peters, on "how creative activities help people live well with mental health conditions."

  • Women's History Month: Join the Women's and Gender Studies program throughout the month of March for programming celebrating women's stories and activism! Students, faculty, and staff are invited to participate in the following events:
    • March 14, noon-1 p.m., Claver 328: Good Trouble Conversation: A Conversation on Radical Empathy in Multicultural Women's Fiction, a discussion with Dr. Lara Narcisi (English) and Dr. Nicki Gonzales (Vice Provost for Diversity and Inclusion). Co-sponsors: ODEIE, English
    • March 21, 5:30-7 p.m., St. John Francis Regis Chapel: Keynote: Editando Centroamérica (Editing Central America), a talk on publishing and feminist activism in Central America with guest speaker Susana Reyes, Salvadoran poet. Bilingual event.Co-sponsors: ODEIE, HIPPE, Mission
    • March 22, noon-1:30 p.m., Claver 210: Good Trouble Conversation: ¿Por Qué Escribimos? Why do we write?, A workshop with Susana Reyes, Salvadoran poet, and Heider Tun Tun (HiPPe) on writing personal narratives. Bilingual event. Co-sponsors: ODEIE, HIPPE, Mission

  • Chris Pramuk (Regis College) has co-authored a book with William Hart (Fr. Bill) McNichols. Their book together, some 3 or 4 years in the making, will be published in April. The national Jesuit periodical America magazine is featuring an excerpt from the book, including art, in its March issue, and one of Fr. Bill's icons graces the cover.

  • Congrats to Tristen Amador (Rueckert-Hartman), Steve Fulton (Anderson), Dan Lakarish (Anderson),Roberta Mancuso (Regis College), and Ed Moore (Anderson), on this wonderful cross-college collaborative scholarship: Thematic Analysis of Key Characteristics for Effective Cyber Incident Response Teams: An Examination of the SolarWinds Cyberattack. Rocky Mountain Psychological Association Conference. Denver, CO. April, 2024.

  • Consider taking part in a webinar hosted by the University of Nevada, Las Vegas covering the ins and outs of Minority-Serving Institutions (MSIs): ABCs and 123s of MSIs: An Introduction to Minority-Serving Institutions. Join Kristine Jan C. Espinoza, Ph.D. Candidate in Higher Education, for an overview of Minority-Serving Institutions in the United States. This session will especially highlight the Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institution (AANAPISI) and Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) designations. Learn more.

  • Mark your calendars for 6-8 p.m. March 13 as Regis welcomes an event for a conference exploring the history, spirituality, and contemporary impact of pilgrimage to the Camino de Santiago, a popular network of pathways located in Spain. Speaker Antón Pombo Rodríguez is a passionate Camino enthusiast with extensive experience. He will share his knowledge in an informative and cultural event. Learn more about the event.
