  • I am excited and grateful to announce that Regis just received the Career Connected Campus Designation from the Colorado Department of Higher Education. Special thanks to Sarah Smith (CCPD) and the CCPD team, Quinn Waller (Internships), Tristen Amador (RHCHP), Geoffrey Bateman (Regis College), Stacy Carmel (RHCHP Physical Therapy), Cassandra Hanna (RHCHP Pharmacy), Melissa Nix (Regis College Service Learning), Cheryl Schwartz (RHCHP Service Learning, Walt Sulmeisters (Anderson), Liza Zenoni (RHCHP Nursing), and others who helped put together our submission. This designation is a wonderful testament to all of the great work everyone is doing across programs, but it is also a call for accountability to ensure that we continue that great work – and expand it.

  • The Center for Career and professional Development recently on-boarded GoinGlobal. Students can access GoinGlobal here. This new career resource will help students and alumni find job and internship opportunities both at home and abroad. GoinGlobal in more than a job board, with country and city guides with expert and specific hiring advice, cultural guides, and webinars to help students achieve their goals. GoinGlobal offers:
    • Explore in-country job search resources, including employment outlooks, industry trends, and professional networking by location.
    • Expedite planning for study abroad and international internship programs.
    • Understand and leverage cultural differences for personal and professional success.

  • Thanks to Natalie Stitch (Registrar’s Office), for all her work in navigating Veteran Affairs compliance. Natalie saw us through a successful recent audit, so successful the reviewer cancelled their second day as they didn’t need to see anymore!

  • Related to the Registrar’s Office, I wanted to publicly acknowledge Cathy Gorrell. Cathy has announced her intent to retire in the spring, and while we will plan to celebrate appropriately at that time – I wanted to let everyone know.

  • Congratulations to Andrea Rexilius (Regis College) for her work on the anthology We Can See into Another Place: Mile-High Writers on Social Justice. This is a collection of writings from graduates of our MFA program and was recently highlighted HERE.

  • Rick Blumenthal (Anderson) recently had his paper "Moving What's in the CS Curriculum Forward: A Proposition to Address Ten Wicked Curricular Issues" accepted for publication in The 56th ACM Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education. ACM made special note in their acceptance about Regis’ University agreement with ACM under which all affiliated corresponding authors can make their articles Open Access at no additional cost. This agreement enables authors to retain their copyright and have a Creative Commons license assigned to their article, providing for worldwide open readership as well as computational and other uses. This membership, as well as the broader commitment to open access that informs it, is thanks to the wonderful work of Dawn Combe (Dayton Memorial Library) and other DML colleagues.

  • Trudi Wright (Regis College) has had two recent publications, “‘Scare Away the Dark:’ The Promotion of Singing to Create Post-Secondary Academic Communities” in the Oxford Handbook of Community Singing edited by Esther Morgan-Ellis and Kay Norton, and “Less is More: Using the Jesuit Examen to Turn Music Classroom Reflection into Social Action” in Teaching and Learning Difficult Topics in the Music Classroom edited by Laura Moore Pruett and Olivia Lucas.

  • Gabriela Carrión recently participated in a conference at Harvard University in honor of Eduardo Matos Moctezuma, the distinguished archeologist responsible for the excavations of the Templo Mayor and a major Aztec pyramid in Mexico City. Gabriela was invited to design a poster in collaboration with Mexican artist, Sitalin Sánchez for this event and to juror a series of posters produced by students at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Puebla. She also served as interpreter for Dr. Matos Moctezuma who presented his remarks at the final lecture for an audience of approximately 300 people.

  • Congratulations to Mariana Pereira Vieira (Regis College) for her recent publication in Tilt West, a local non-profit organization that promotes critical discourse focused on arts and culture.
