Update from Student Disability Services & University Testing

Contacting SDS/UT (Student Disability Services & University Testing)

  • The office will be closed to walk-ins starting today, March 17, 2020.

  • Please communicate with us by email via your Regis email or phone.

    • Check your several times a day - this is the best way for us to reach you.

    • We recommend that you email our disability@regis.edu and copy a specific staff person that you want to reply

Ongoing Accommodations

  • If you have concerns or questions about online and/or accommodations for your current classes, please reach out to discuss with us.

  • If you reach out to professors, you can include us on these email correspondences. However, we are not able to be part of the email if they are doing it through the World Class portal. You can forward us the information through your Regis email.

  • If you have any new classes starting online or classes that will be going online, you will still need Letters of Accommodation sent out to faculty. This includes new classes that are starting for the next 7- or 8-week session.

  • Students who have classes that have been moved from the classroom to online classes starting March 19 will not need to have your LOAs (Letters of Accommodation) resent. 

New Accommodations

  • If you are looking into disability accommodations or if you are in the process of getting services, please email us your documentation, so we can keep the process moving forward and stay in contact with you.

Testing Accommodations/Scheduling Exams

  • As with class instruction, all exams are moving online. If you are approved for extended time on exams/quizzes, you will still receive this accommodation. Instead of scheduling the exam/quiz with us, please follow the temporary instructions below:

    • Contact your faculty to remind them you have extended time before the scheduled exam date. It would be a smart idea to do this one week before an exam, just like if you were scheduling with SDS/UT.

    • If the exam will be given during the class period, inform your faculty if you have a time conflict with a course before or after class you have to “attend” online. Your faculty will need to schedule a different time/date for you to take the exam that works with both of your schedules.

    • Exams that will not be given during class period, but will have a due date for the exam - please remind you faculty about your extended time so your exam time will be set correctly.

    • Exams may be scheduled to be taken in SDS/UT under the following circumstances only:

      • You do not have access to the internet.

      • You do not have a personal computer/laptop.

      • You do not have an appropriate environment to take your exam (no location in which to test where you can control distractions, interruptions, etc.).

      • You have an accommodation that cannot be met outside of the SDS/UT office.

        Please contact SDS/UT as soon as possible if you feel you meet these criteria. Additionally, this option will only be available as long as the campus remains open.
