How Geofencing Helps Students Discover Regis

In early October, Admissions launched a geofencing campaign aimed at bolstering incoming first-year applications and visit registrations throughout the fall. In geofencing, display advertisements are served up when a user  enters  a predefined virtual geographic boundary. Over the course of the campaign, we will geofence 12 college fair events throughout October and November and 16 feeder schools until the end of the calendar year.

There’s already evidence that the campaigns are working as intended — we’ve seen an increase of 46.5% and 37.5% in applications from Broomfield and Westminster High Schools, respectively, during this year’s Colorado Free App Day$. College fairs at these schools were targeted as part of our geofencing campaign the week before the events. Overall, we received 13% more applications in October compared to our three-year average.
