Meet the Registration Team

The Registration Department, on the fourth floor in Main Hall with the Academic Records Department, works with all matriculated students from the point of registration to commencement. We work with all three colleges and their staff on registration and section training, program enrollment and degree verifications, grades, VA benefits and commencement.

Cathy Gorrell  has been working for Regis for 27 years in the Registrar’s Office/Academic Records & Registration Department. She started as Commencement Specialist and International Student Advisor, was later promoted to Assistant and Associate Registrar and in the last 15 years has been the Director of Registration.  

Cathy manages all university section creation, manual and online registrations, grade functions and system support on Colleague/WebAdvisor/Ranger Portal, discount coding, wait listing, add/drop processes, Registration Status Appeal coordination, National Student Clearinghouse enrollment and degree reporting, enrollment and degree verifications, veteran benefit certifications/advising, grade verification and grade changes, and the entire coordination for the three University Commencement Ceremonies. She is also responsible for the University Academic Calendars, chairing the Modular Administrator Committee and Data Stewards Committee and represents the Operational Departments in the University Assessment Committee.  

In her down time Cathy loves to travel, enjoys long walks, needlepoint, and camping and hiking in our beautiful Rocky Mountains. Her favorite thing is to host parties and spend time with her two children, their spouses, her two grandsons and her eight siblings. Both her son, Jordan and daughter, Kelsey are Regis alums and Jordan also has a MA in Counseling from Regis.

Deborah Vinnola started as an Admissions Counselor at Regis in 1989, just after graduating from Regis College. During her 32 years, Deb has been Transfer Coordinator, Associate Director of Admissions, Document Imaging Coordinator, Assistant Director of Academic Records, Director of Student Services and most recently the Assistant Director of Registration.

In this role, Deb manages the official document imaging system Perceptive Content/ImageNow of the University, the NSC enrollment and degree verification processes, Ranger Portal maintenance and new service implementation as well as supervises the VA Education Benefit and Military/Verifications Coordinators.  In addition, Deb is an administrator for the University Informer Reporting system and an active member of the Data Custodian and Modular Administrator committees while also coordinating the Affiliate Faculty Tuition Remission and Preferred Tuition Discount programs. 

Deb enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Sam. When she wins the lottery, she will travel the world and take all sorts of cooking and wine classes.  While she waits, she loves watching old movies with Sam and is an avid reader.  Deb is working on her Master’s in Organizational Leadership.  

natalie-stitch-225x225.jpgVeteran Affairs Education Benefits Coordinator 

Natalie Stitch has been with Regis since 2012, having served as a Military Data Assistant and then VA Education Benefits Coordinator and SCO.  Natalie holds a BS in Finance from Colorado State University.

Natalie plays an integral part in the transition the VA student has from military life into the classroom. She assists in implementing students’ education benefits with Student Accounts and the Office of Admissions, to ensure they are ready once classes begin. She is on the Military Scholarship Committee and works with VA officials on annual compliance updates and regulations. 

Natalie has been married for 25 years and has two daughters. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching softball, and walking her two four-legged family members Harley and Sadie (who love her best).

Eugene (Gene) Gonzalez, Military Administrative and Verification Coordinator 

Eugene 'Gene" Gonzalez is a retired marine with over 20 years of faithful service to the Marine Corps. He has been working for Regis since 2017. Gene started as a work-study for Military and Veterans in 2017, then worked for Academics Records and Registration in October 2018. In June 2019, he served as the Interim Director for Military and Veteran Services. 

He graduated from Anderson College of Business in 2017 with a Bachelor’s in Business Management. He relentlessly pursued his Master of Science in Organization Leadership and completed it in 2019.  

Gene’s experiences are in Veterans Affairs education benefits, certification, coach support, and enrollment/degree verification. Gene was selected to serve with the Regis Military Scholarship Fund committee, which established a scholarship/gift agreement between American GI Forum and Regis for our veterans and military dependents. Gene also established key multi-departmental relationships across the University and within the Denver community, elevated the Regis food pantry, and led/initiated 14 campus-wide events. 

Gene has been married 34 years to his lovely wife, Oki. They have two sons, Joshua and Jacob – as well as two dogs, Happy and Honey. Gene enjoys traveling to Texas to visit family, hiking, movies, the mountains, camping, and mentoring and training Young Marines, including helping them with for Toys for Tots. Gene’s two life qualities are initiative and perseverance.

Marla Bregitzer started working at Regis in 2007, as a Campus Associate at the DTC campus. She later moved to the main campus as an Administrative Coordinator, and in 2019 she became Administrative Manager of Registration. 

Marla is the liaison between students appealing registrations and the Registration Status Appeals Committee, she processes grade change requests, late adds & drops, course overloads, pass/no-pass requests, and enrollment reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse. 

Marla enjoys camping, biking, hiking, and spending time with her kids and pets.

Rebecca Faulkner joined Regis in 2012, as a Campus Associate for Student Services.  She traveled and worked at every campus up and down the I-25 corridor for five years.  She is now an Administrative Coordinator for Academic Records and Registration.  She facilitates communication between all schools and administrative departments throughout the University.  She is responsible for creating course sections university wide. 

Before Regis, Rebecca owned and operated Becca’s Expresso for over 10 years in a small community in Strasburg, east of Denver.  Rebecca was actively involved in the Strasburg School District where her children attended and where she served as a School Board Member for 4 years. 

Rebecca is devoted to her family, loves her grandbabies, and spends most of her time with them.   In her spare time, she enjoys attending auctions where she has found the most interesting items and some great deals.

Jane O'Neill is a former Regis undergraduate student who became the Commencement Coordinator in Academic Records and Registration this OctoberJane studied at Regis, CU Denver, and the University of New Mexico for historical linguistics and cultural anthropology. She looks forward to being a part of the team. Jane processes graduation applications, grade change requests, and enrollment verifications.   

Jane is an actress at heart and has a passion for theatre, writing, and arts and crafts. One day, Jane and her boyfriend plan to get a puppy named Stroganoff or 'Strogi' for short.

Brian Brown also joined Academic Records & Registration just last month. Originally from Fort Collins, he graduated from Regis with a Bachelor’s in History in 2020. During his undergraduate studies, he held a work-study position in the Print and Mail Center.  

As an Administrative Coordinator for Sections, Brian helps to create and maintain course sections for Anderson and Regis College, as well as assisting with directed study sections and registration related activities. This requires constant attention to detail, to ensure the courses’ information is accurate. 

In his free time, Brian enjoys cooking, and is constantly trying out new dishes from across the globe. He also has a keen interest in history, and likes to learn about new perspectives from the past.
