One Book, One Regis

One Book, One Regis has served as a unifying effort for the Regis community in pursuit of the Jesuit values that drive us toward inclusive excellence. We are taking a different approach this year, encouraging colleges, departments and units to form reading and discussion groups connected to our Good Trouble Conversation topics to foster community building, collegiality and conversation.

We encourage you to consider reading one of the suggested titles below and hosting a reading group or book discussion in your unit during the spring terms. We will provide additional information and resources in a future Provost’s Digest after the winter break.

Physical Therapy reaccredited for the maximum period

Congratulations are in order to the Regis University Doctor of Physical Therapy program — they have been reaccredited by CAPTE for a period of ten years without a single citation. This is fabulous news as very infrequently are there no citations! Kudos to Dr. Heidi Eigsti who worked tirelessly and with much enthusiasm leading this effort, to the CAPTE Steering Committee and to all the faculty and staff.  The Commission noted:

  • The program is meeting its mission as evidenced by a strong commitment of the faculty and staff to the success of the students, their outcomes (including graduation rates, licensure rates, entry-level clinical performance and employment rates), and a curriculum plan that uses a hybrid model.
  • The performance of the program graduates, as reported by the program in the 2019 and 2020 Annual Accreditation Reports.

Nursing News

Carol Wallman has been elected to serve as president of the board of directors for the National Certification Corporation (NCC).

Susan Dalbey has been chosen to serve as a program evaluator for The National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA), which promotes excellence and integrity in nursing education globally.

Congratulations to both of them and thank you for their hard work and dedication to furthering nursing education.

We are collecting donations this holiday season to purchase items that will help keep Regis Safe Outdoor Space residents warm this winter. Help us buy socks, gloves, hand and foot warmers, and even backpacks if funds allow. Any amount helps! You can contribute to the fund here. Learn more about the Regis SOS is this Fox 31 report.
