Regis summer programs keep campus busy

Campus was busy this summer with several fun and engaging academic opportunities.

REGIS STEM Camp

The REGIS (Rangers Empowering Girls in STEM) research camp, which welcomed middle school students who feel safe in a pro-girl and girl-centered environment to campus, had three areas of focus: Biology, Chemistry and Neuroscience. Ashley Fricks-Gleason, Bethany Lucas and Lynetta Mier collaborated on this exciting project, which was revived after a pandemic-related hiatus. The camp is being recognized as an “Inspiring Program” by INSIGHT Into Diversity, a national diversity magazine.

DoctorRx Pharmacy Camp

The School of Pharmacy held a DoctorRx Pharmacy Summer Camp in July. High school aged participants learned about the diverse and exciting field of of pharmacy through interactive hands-on activities in the Skills Lab, toured our state-of-the-art Simulation Lab, and experienced the life of a pharmacy student and pharmacist. Students also learned about the incredible careers available to a Doctor of Pharmacy graduate and how to best prepare for college.

Summer Bridge Program

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusive Excellence welcomed 18 incoming first-year, first generation students to campus for a two-week on-campus living experience. Regis College faculty member Wladimir Marquez taught a 2-credit course that helped students to cultivate their personal voice, explore new ways of thinking and become confident in themselves as writers and learners. Parents came to campus for a closing celebration.
