Regis to host the Servicios de La Raza Annual Youth Leadership Conference

Regis will host the Servicios de La Raza Annual Youth Leadership Conference on Friday, Oct. 27. Servicios’ mission is to provide and advocate for culturally responsive, essential human services and opportunities. Servicios’ vision is to build and cultivate a thriving Colorado Latino community in which all members have the opportunities, and the support systems, to achieve equity, self-sufficiency, and self-determination to enjoy a healthy quality of life. The Youth Leadership Conference is an event that brings together potential young leaders, activists, and change-makers to discuss crucial issues affecting our community. It allows them to learn, connect, and be inspired by influential voices and role models.

We anticipate 600 youth (ages 14-19) and 250 staff, chaperones, and vendors as well as various educational institutions and community-based organizations will attend the conference and we expect informational tables to be set up on campus.

The day will begin in the Field House with a welcome ceremony, followed by breakout/workshop sessions to be held in Loyola, Carroll, Clarke, Main Hall and Claver. A pre-conference planning meeting and tour will be held on campus on Wednesday, October 25 from 11:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. All guests will park in Lot 6.

We are excited to host this event as we plan to partner with Servicios in many ways including hosting our students and collaborating with them on seeking grants.

If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please reach out to Paula Colorosa at pcolorosa@regis.edu. Volunteer duties will include being the point person or liaison for groups by a specific building, answering questions and handling issues. Each volunteer is asked to work on Wednesday, Oct. 25 from noon-1 p.m. and all day on Friday, Oct. 27 from 7:15 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.
