MNM to head to east Africa this summer

The Regis Master of Nonprofit Management is taking a group of students to Rwanda and Uganda in July and has openings for MNM graduate students. The program also has a few openings for other graduate students and alumni. Regis staff and faculty are welcome with permission. The Service Oriented Field Experience course will take place during the second summer term.

Course Description
This experiential course examines the cultural, historical, socio-economic, and political realities of the E. African Region (specifically Rwanda and Uganda). Students research and reflect on culture, poverty, and development in E. Africa through class discussions and travel to both countries as part of the learning experience. During the travel, they also explore the unique contributions of the nonprofit/nongovernmental (NP/GO) sector in different settings through site visits and experiences in both city and village communities (3 Graduate Credits).

Location: Rwanda and Uganda (East Africa).

Dates: July 2024 - Part of the Summer 2 term. In-country Travel dates – (TBD but should be in mid to late July).

Costs: $2500 (Cost includes in-country facilitation – i.e., Accommodation, transportation, and most meals. Cost does not include flights to and from the SOFE location, tuition, and other personal expenses).

Who can apply: This is a Master of Nonprofit Management (MNM) and Development Practice class. However, we have a few openings for other graduate students and Alumni. Regis staff and faculty welcome with permission.

Logistics: The MNM Program will communicate the trip logistics to registered participants by the end of April.
