  • We’re continuing the Lunch and Learn sessions in the UMin lounge in the Student Center. These sessions are led by Regis General Counsel Janelle Ramsel and Pre-Law Advisor Meaghan Shaughnessy (Regis College) and provide insight and opportunities for discussion around federal government administration. Upcoming sessions include March 26 from 12:30-1:30. p.m. and April 30 from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

 

  • The Office of Student Disability Services (SDS) will host an Accessibility Day during Ranger Week on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Quad. All are welcome to join in the celebration. There will be food, games and an opportunity to connect and build a stronger, more inclusive community for everyone. SDS invites you to Share Your Story about disability no later than March 12. By sharing your experiences, you can help raise awareness and foster a greater sense of belonging for students and members of our community living with disabilities.

 

 

  • Registration for the 2025 Migrant Trail opens on April 1st. You can learn more at www.azmigranttrail.com. Please reach out to Melissa Nix or Jake Bucher if you’d like to learn more about the experience.

 

  • The University was just awarded $585,000 grant from The Colorado Health Foundation for our proposed pre-nursing to nursing mentoring program. Big thanks to colleagues in RHCHP/LSON, CoBe and Advancement for their hard work.

 

  • The Department of Psychology & Neuroscience and Student Disability Services are co-hosting Jason Romero, who is a Paralympian, world record-holding endurance athlete, the first blind person to run across the U.S., CEO, author and motivational speaker. Mr. Romero will share his inspirational story on Thurs., March 27, 3:30-5:00 p.m., in the Science Amphitheatre. All are welcome!

 

  • Congratulations to Joanne Duputel-Eaton and Megan Cody, two RHCHP students who were selected for poster presentations at the Neonatal Advanced Practice Nurses Conference in Austin Texas in April.

 

  • Congrats to Trudi Wright (Regis College) for her publication “Digital Open Access and Open Educational Resources for the Music History Classroom,” Journal of the American Musicological Society 77/3 (Fall 2024). Trudi and her co-author were invited to UCLA last month to present on the research.

 

  • In collaboration with RHCHP and CoBe, we will be hosting two screenings of the film, Ilena's Smile, followed by discussion with faculty, staff and students. The dates/times are April 16, 3:30-5:30 p.m., Peter Claver Hall, Room 328 and April 17, 11:00-1:00 p.m., Pomponio Science Center, Room 212.

 

  • Congrats to Anderson students Desiree Parker and Katia Del Toro Garza for making the finals of the international hackathon hosted by Anderson's Jesuit partner in India, St. Joseph's Institute of Management. Thanks to Ken Sagendorf for his work to coordinate the student participation.

 

  • Check out this podcast (https://www.jesuits.org/amdg-jesuit-podcast/) with Chris Pramuk (Regis College and University Mission) who discusses his new book with famed artist and iconographer Fr. William Hart McNichols. His conversation with Eric Clayton ranges from the relationship between art and spirituality and ways that the arts can facilitate healing and hopefulness in unsettling times.

 

  • Please join me in congratulating and welcoming Heidi Eigsti (RHCHP) into her new role as the Dean of the School for Rehabilitative and Health Sciences. We are all sad to see Mark Reinking go, but wish him well in retirement, and we’re excited and grateful to work with Heidi in her new role!
