Updates and Announcements

Please send any accomplishments, announcements, etc. to provost@regis.edu or directly to Jake Bucher.

  •  Save the date/time for Dec. 4, 3-4:30 p.m., for an Academic and Student Affairs town hall. Faculty and staff from across the university are invited.

  • As part of the continued assessment for growth and accountability, many of you will be receiving evaluations for the Vice Provost, Dean of Anderson College and Dean of Regis College. Again, this is part of our 360-evaluation model that began last year in Academic and Student Affairs. Thank you in advance for your participation.

  • Please consider submitting nominations for the 2026 honorary doctorate recipient.

  • See this article about the wonderful Día de los Muertos exhibit.

  • Julia Brumbaugh (Regis College) recently presented "Sabbath, True Worship, and the University" Catholicity, Theology & the University: Conjectures in a Complex World” at the Leuven Encounters in Systematic Theology conference in Belgium.

  • Related to the great work of TLE, many of you have incorporated U-Thrive modules into your courses. We have now built our own internal U-Thrive library and instructors can add any modules to their own courses. Here is the U-Thrive Modules directory with open links (no WorldClass login required) for instructors who want students to access the modules as resources only (these versions do not include the Knowledge Check or Certificate). For more information, please reach out to Ling Thompson (lthompso@regis.edu) or Jonnia Torres Carolan (jtorrescarolan@regis.edu).

  • Students Erik Ziel and Kidus Teshome, along with Surendra Mahapatro (Regis College), have received travel awards from the American Association to Advance Science (AAAS) to attend the upcoming Emerging Researchers National (ERN) Conference STEM in March 2026.

  • Katie Emery (Regis College) had her article “Paying it forward: the ripple effect of scientific mentorship and federal funding” published in Your Neighborhood Scientist.

  • A reminder that the Provost has open office hours each Monday, 9-10 a.m., and Thursday, 2-3 p.m. at the main campus, and Thursdays, 5-6 p.m. at the Thornton campus. If those times are not convenient, please reach out to set up a time to connect.

  • Rebecca Betjemann (Regis College) presented her work “Bias in Agreement with Political Information Based on Congruence of Party Affiliation” at the American Psychological Association Annual Conference here in Denver.

  • The Provost Advisory Council recently met and discussed the nature of the University Board of Trustees. We discussed the Board’s purview and their dynamic with senior leadership, as well as briefed the recent October 2025 Board of Trustee meetings.

  • Thanks to Precious Palmer (CCPD) and Junior Reina Toc (CoBe) who led a wonderful event on career-connectedness. In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, they hosted the Voices in Law discussion panel in collaboration with the Philosophy, Politics, Economics, and Law program. The event featured three legal professionals, including one Regis alum, who shared their insights and career experiences, to help participants learn more about diverse pathways within the legal field and to explore ways to engage with the legal systems beyond traditional law practice.

  • Morgan McNeill (Global Inclusive Program), Rona McCall (Regis College), Grace Maddox (Global Inclusive Program) and co-authors presented “Hearts, minds, and actions: Changing attitudes one inclusive class at a time” at the State of the Art Conference in Syracuse, NY.

  • For anyone interested in developing their grant skills, we are partnering with McAlister and Quinn for this grant development program. Please reach out directly to your Dean or the Provost Office if you are interested in participating. Deadline for sharing interest is Dec. 1.
