Updates and Announcements

Please send any accomplishments, announcements, etc. to provost@regis.edu or directly to Jake Bucher.

  • To stay informed on University Senate, please check this link for updated minutes.

  • A reminder that the Provost has open office hours each Monday, 9-10 a.m. and Thursday, 2-3 p.m. at the main campus, and Thursdays, 5-6 p.m. at the Thornton campus. If those times are not convenient, please reach out to set up a time to connect.

  • The Provost Advisory Council recently met and discussed the status of work-study. We are still collecting data, but we can report that federal work-study awards have not decreased, but this fall we are seeing fewer jobs available. With that said, we have unfilled jobs, so it is not clear that there are insufficient opportunities for students. The Academic and Student Affairs leadership will continue monitoring this issue.

  • Faculty and staff who teach, advise, or otherwise work directly with undergraduate students at Regis University are invited to apply to participate in a four-day learning community in May 2026 (with a one-day follow-up in August, and two short gatherings per semester). This learning community will support faculty and staff as they deepen their understanding of vocational exploration and discernment and become better equipped to support students as they seek out meaningful work in their lives and become workplace-ready – all in the context of HSI servingness, community-engagement, and equitable high-impact experiential learning practices. Apply here by Jan. 23.

  • Check out the side of O’Sullivan for a wheat-pasting art installation from Mariana Pereira Vieira’s (Regis College) students.
  • America Media, the Jesuit Review of Faith and Culture, has announced a new university partnerships program, wherein current students, faculty and staff at each of the Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States can now access America's digital content for free. You can learn more about the effort and register for an account through your school's specific link here on this page.

  • Amy Hezel, Amanda Davidson and Kate Burns (Dayton Memorial Library), won scholarships to attend the 2025 Open Education conference, which was held in October.

  • Alyse Knorr (Regis College) led a training called "Analogic Thinking and Negative Capability: What Poetry Brings to Business" to the Data Science AI Platform Team in Home Depot's corporate office.

  • Trudi Wright (Regis College) has been named as the President-Elect of the Society for American Music.
