Work on Main Hall's Exterior Begins on March 6
Starting Thursday, March 6, repairs will begin on the masonry and stone at Main Hall's exterior. The work zone will be limited to areas extending about 25 feet in circumference above, east, and west of the south-facing entrance and stairs. All work is expected to be completed before Commencement in May.
Loud noises from stone saws and hammer drills will be limited to early morning hours. Lighter noise from grinders removing loose mortar will be heard throughout the day, particularly during the first four weeks. Engine noises from motorized lifts used by the contractor’s team to access elevated areas will also be present for the entire eight-week duration.
At times, access to the south entrance may be restricted to one side only. Orange barricades and caution tape will mark safe paths for entering and exiting the building.
