Risk Management Survey

Dear Faculty and Staff,

On June 9, you will receive a link to a comprehensive Risk Management Survey designed to identify, rank and address the challenges facing our institution.

What is Risk Management?

Risk management is the proactive process of identifying, assessing, and preparing for potential threats to our institution's operations, finances, and reputation. Instead of just reacting to crises, it allows us to foresee obstacles — ranging from cybersecurity vulnerabilities to academic disruptions — and implement strategies to minimize their impact.

Our Journey So Far: Shifting Our Strategy

To date, Regis has maintained a register of over 150 individual risks. While thorough, managing 150 separate threats dilutes our focus and spreads institutional resources too thin. We are now revising this approach to consolidate and prioritize our efforts down to a critical set of 3 to 10 core risks. By narrowing our focus, Regis can dedicate meaningful institutional resources, time and budget to effectively mitigate the threats that matter most.

Why Your Input Matters

We are moving from a closed, administrative review to a broad-based, inclusive model. This shift is crucial to enhance our institutional resilience. By participating, you help move our campus from a state of passive awareness to active ownership of our collective security.

Elevating Voices: We are expanding this project to include perspectives from all departments, ensuring our new, streamlined risk profile is accurate and comprehensive.

Strengthening Our Future: Your ground-level expertise is vital to accurately rank existing risks and draft new ones for our revised risk management structure.
