Diplomas

Diplomas are mailed within 12 weeks of the graduation date. To check the status of your diploma, contact the Office of the Registrar.

Only legal names on record with Regis are printed on diplomas. Students should submit a Change of Name Affidavit at least three months prior to graduation and commencement ceremony.

Commencement Ceremonies

Commencement refers to the ceremony that celebrates graduation. Regis hosts commencement ceremonies early May each year. One ceremony for doctoral and graduate students is held on Saturday morning, and a separate ceremony for undergraduate students is held on Sunday morning. Attendance at commencement ceremonies is encouraged. There is no additional fee associated with participating in commencement.

Commencement ceremonies are held outside on Boettcher Commons on the Northwest Denver campus, rain, snow or shine. Visit the Commencement web page regis.edu/commencement for the schedule of events, ordering regalia, ceremony photos and video streaming, suggested hotels, and frequently asked questions.

Participation in the commencement ceremony does not guarantee graduation and vice versa. Contact your academic advisor with any questions about your degree requirements and completion.

Regis approved academic regalia are required: a cap and gown for all students, and hood for graduate and doctoral students. Regalia can be ordered through the Regis University Bookstore: bkstr.com/regisuniversitystore/home.

If you have applied for graduation by the appropriate deadline based on your program completion date, your name will appear in the commencement program regardless of participation.

Honors posted in the Commencement Program are estimated based on grades available and final honors will be printed on each student's transcript and diploma.

Undergraduate students are permitted to participate in the commencement ceremony if they are within 15 semester hours of completing their degree requirements. Regis College: undergraduate students are allowed to march in commencement if they are within 12 semester hours of completing their degree requirements.

Graduate students are permitted to participate in the commencement ceremony if they are within 6 semester hours of completing their degree requirements.

Graduation

This status change occurs after the published conferral date when all grades have been submitted and the academic college, department, or advisor confirms a student is eligible for graduation. Students will be notified by email when the diploma is shipped.

If a diploma is damaged or not received your diploma within four to six weeks of the mailing date outlined in the email notification, contact the Office of the Registrar at registrar@regis.edu.
