Regis University Academic Council (RUAC)

The Regis University Academic Council (RUAC) is the faculty body that presides over the academic governance of Regis University and makes formal recommendations to the Provost on University academic matters. RUAC is faculty-driven and faculty-led, charged with ensuring the quality and rigor of programs, majors, and certificates across the University.

The Council consists of ten voting members drawn from University faculty, including three faculty each from Regis College, the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions, and the Anderson College of Business and Computing, plus one faculty member from the Library. Members serve three-year staggered terms and are led by a Chair and Chair Elect who provide academic leadership and policy guidance.

RUAC meets twice monthly from September through May, and on Wednesdays in June, July, and August as needed to review and approve new academic programs, evaluate policy changes, monitor program quality, and oversee academic unit reviews. The Council is responsible for formulating University-wide academic policies and standards, reviewing strategic plans, and evaluating proposals for new degrees, majors, minors, and certificates. All RUAC actions are forwarded as formal recommendations to the Provost for implementation.

Council meetings include a public portion open to all members of the University community, welcoming input from faculty, staff, and academic leadership in support of Regis University's educational mission.
