GDPR Request

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in European Union law on data protection and privacy concerning the processing by an individual, a company or an organization (including Universities like Regis) of personal data relating to individuals in the EU and EEA zone. General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) applies to individuals located in the European Union (EU) who submit personal information and/or use the University’s websites and other services that are based in the EU. If individuals in the EU who accessed Regis services based in the EU (including students, alumni, and employees) wish to exercise their rights under GDPR, please fill out the GDPR Data Request Form. It is important to note that the Policy does not apply to the processing of personal data prior to May 25, 2018, or requests related to services that are not hosted in the EU.

Requests may be made regarding the following:

  • General questions about the GDPR and its applicability to Regis University
  • A copy of any personal data that the University holds for services in the EU
  • Information about any processing of personal data that is being carried out for services in the EU
  • Any rights to rectification, erasure, portability, or restriction of processing that may exist under GDPR

The University will respond, without charge, within one month of the request. If the University receives a large number of requests or if a request is particularly complex, the response time may be extended. Where requests are manifestly unfounded or excessive, the University may charge a fee or refuse to act on the request.

The information provided in this form will only be used to respond to the respective request.

Third parties may not exercise another’s rights without proper authorization. The University will use reasonable efforts to verify the identity of the requestor and may request additional information necessary to confirm the requestor’s identity.

The nature of data that the University collects is subject to the laws of the United States and the State of Colorado, excluding conflict of law provisions. For additional information, read the full text of the GDPR here.
