Regis Community Garden to host educational workdays

Every second Saturday during the summer months, the Regis Community Garden hosts a dedicated “workday” that is open to all. The purpose of this event is to educate gardeners on how to grow sustainable gardens and encourage service in the sun.

At the next workday, set for 9 a.m. June 12, participants will learn about the benefits of composting and how to maintain three-bin systems. The workday is expected to last until noon.

As part of the workday, there will be ample time to ask questions related to setting up a compost system. Once the lesson and hands-on teaching section is complete, the garden's steering committee will create groups and divide necessary tasks: everything from pulling weeds to wrapping grape vines and repairing fencing.

To RSVP or inquire further, please email regiscommunitygarden@dug.org.
