Elevator Care Is Everyone's Responsibility

As a friendly reminder, the elevators around campus do not enjoy being held open. Whether the door is physically held open or the buttons are pushed repeatedly to keep it on a certain floor, the elevators take this as a glitch and shut themselves down (as a safety mechanism). Once shutdown, the elevators company must be called in to turn it back on. Having to wait on a technician is inconvenient and long-winded for all involved. Please avoid holding the elevator in general where possible.

Please pass on this gentle reminder to your fellow students and colleagues who may need to hear it. Prevention is better than a cure!

Kindly,
Your friends in the Physical Plant
